About Munster Cheese

Munster is a classic Alsatian washed-rind cheese with a strong, pungent aroma and a surprisingly mild, creamy flavour. Its sticky orange rind comes from regular washing with brine. It is one of France's oldest cheeses and holds AOP protection. Despite the smell, it is a crowd-pleaser once you dig in.

Pairings

Great with rye bread, caraway seeds, and potatoes. Pairs with Alsatian Gewurztraminer or a cold lager beer.

Fun fact: Munster cheese has been made by monks in the Vosges mountains since the 7th century.
